ABOUT MYRNA

MYRNA GAWRYN BEGAN her career as a classically trained dancer. She has worked for many years as a director, choreographer and movement specialist in all performance venues and platforms.  Her background is in theater, dance, visual media, kinesiology, anatomy and anthropology.

EARLY ON, SHE CO-OWNED AND WAS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR for the dance and performing arts studio Room to Move in Los Angeles, and was an Artist in Residence through the California Arts Council, producing a dance and theater project for men in prison.

SHE WAS A DEVELOPER for LifeForms, a choreographic and storyboarding software, and has been a performer and director for motion capture, and for 'real time animation'.

FOR THE LAST FIFTEEN YEARS, Myrna has turned her skill and focus very specifically to Animation and the issues involving acting, character performance, and storytelling and structure in this form. 

SHE HAS DEVELOPED AND DELIVERED MASTERCLASSES for the Sundance Theater Lab in Utah, and the Lincoln Center Director's Lab at the Pasadena Playhouse in California, as well as for countless animation studios, film schools and film festivals all over the world.

MYRNA HAS been teaching, performing and studying the movement of all things animate all her working life.

HER experience with the details of action and character driven performance, and her deep passion for understanding how we move and what moves us, has brought her to her work in animation.  

SHE is thrilled to see the professional industry in production, and training institutions worldwide responding to this work.
